Wisconsin GI Bill (WI GI Bill)
Waives full tuition and segregated fees for up to 8 semesters or 128 credits, whichever is greater, at any University of Wisconsin System or Wisconsin Technical College System school. This is a state benefit separate from the federal GI Bill.
Who it is for
Wisconsin resident veterans with an honorable discharge who entered service from Wisconsin or lived in Wisconsin for 3 consecutive years before enrolling. Spouses and children (ages 17 to 25) can qualify if the veteran has a VA disability rating of 30% or higher, or died on active duty or from a service-connected cause while a Wisconsin resident.

How to apply
- Apply for eligibility certification online at MyWisVets.com, or send WDVA Form 2030 with your DD-214 and residency proof to WDVA by mail, email, or fax.
- Once WDVA approves you, submit WDVA Form 2029 to the Veteran Certifying Official at your UW System or technical college school.
- Call 800-947-8387 or visit your County or Tribal Veterans Service Officer if you need help with the paperwork.
Deadline: WDVA lists no application deadline. Get your eligibility certification before or during enrollment so the school can apply the remission. (Rolling, apply any time)
