Resource State Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs

Pennsylvania State Veterans Homes

Pennsylvania runs six state veterans homes that provide long-term care for veterans. All six offer memory care, and four of them also provide nursing care, personal care, and domiciliary care. Residents pay a monthly maintenance fee based on their ability to pay.

Who it is for

Honorably discharged veterans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces or Pennsylvania Military Forces and are Pennsylvania residents. Preference for admission goes to those whose home of record when they entered the military was Pennsylvania. People who mainly need mental health or custodial care, or who have an unresolved history of alcohol or drug abuse, are not eligible.

Focus: Veterans with disabilities
