Lets a 100% disabled veteran buy up to $25,000 worth of goods each year without paying Oklahoma sales tax. A surviving spouse who has not remarried can use up to $1,000 of exempt purchases per year.

Oklahoma resident veterans with a permanent, 100% service-connected disability rating certified by the VA, and the unremarried surviving spouse of a veteran who qualified.

How to apply

  1. Confirm your 100% permanent service-connected disability rating with the VA.
  2. Apply for the sales tax exemption permit online through the Oklahoma Taxpayer Access Point (OkTAP) portal on the Tax Commission site.
  3. Show your exemption permit at the time of purchase to avoid paying sales tax, up to the $25,000 yearly limit ($1,000 for a qualifying surviving spouse).

Deadline: There is no application deadline. The $25,000 exempt-purchase limit ($1,000 for a surviving spouse) resets each calendar year. (Rolling, apply any time)
