Ohio Veterans Homes (OVH)
Two state-run long-term care campuses for aging Ohio veterans, in Sandusky (427-bed nursing home plus a 216-bed domiciliary for independent or lightly supervised living) and Georgetown (168-bed nursing home). Both campuses offer standard care, memory care for dementia and Alzheimer's, and skilled nursing care.
Who it is for
Honorably discharged veterans who have been a resident of Ohio for at least one year at some point in their life, served on active duty (other than for training) during a period of war or declared armed conflict or received a qualifying medal such as the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal or Vietnam Service Medal, and have a disability that leaves them unable to earn a living. Family members can apply on a veteran's behalf.
