New York's first state veterans cemetery, on 162 acres along Seneca Lake in Romulus, Seneca County. It provides burial and a final committal service for eligible veterans, their legal spouse, and eligible dependent children, with a marble headstone ordered after burial.
Who it is for
Armed Forces veterans discharged from active duty under other than dishonorable conditions, plus their legal spouse and eligible dependent children. Veterans who entered active duty after September 7, 1980, or officers commissioned after October 16, 1981, generally need 24 consecutive months of service, with exceptions for those killed in action or discharged for disability or hardship. Certain Reserve and National Guard members with qualifying service also qualify.
