City Bar Justice Center Veterans Assistance Project (Veterans Assistance Project)

A free pro bono legal program that helps low-income New York City veterans get and keep VA benefits. Volunteer lawyers help locate service and medical records, prepare and file disability claims and appeals, and represent veterans at VA hearings.

Who it is for

New York City veterans who are experiencing poverty and need help with VA benefits claims and appeals. Veterans call the intake line to have their case screened, and eligible veterans are matched with a volunteer lawyer.
