Tuition Waiver for Children of Disabled New Hampshire Veterans (NH Veterans' Children Tuition Waiver)

Waives tuition at New Hampshire public colleges and community colleges for the children of a New Hampshire veteran the VA has rated 100 percent permanently and totally disabled from a service-connected condition.

Biological, adopted, or stepchildren under 27 of a New Hampshire veteran with a 100 percent permanent and total VA disability rating, who meet New Hampshire residency rules and attend a University System of New Hampshire or Community College System of New Hampshire school.

How you apply: Apply through a partner organization.

Applicants file the Tuition Waiver application form, and the UNH Military and Veteran Services Office certifies eligibility before sending it to the student's chosen USNH or community college campus.

How to apply

  1. Fill out the FAFSA every year the waiver is used.
  2. Complete the Tuition Waiver for Children of Disabled New Hampshire Veterans application form, available from USNH.
  3. Submit the form to the UNH Military and Veteran Services Office for certification, then to the college you plan to attend, by that school's own deadline.

Deadline: Each college sets its own deadline to apply for the waiver each term, so check with the specific school's financial aid office. (Deadline varies)

Amount: Covers tuition remaining after other gift aid, up to the full New Hampshire resident tuition rate
