Waiver of Tuition Program (NE Tuition Waiver)
Waives 100% of tuition and tuition-related fees at the University of Nebraska, Nebraska state colleges, or Nebraska community colleges for the spouse or child of a veteran who is 100% permanently and totally disabled, died from service, or was declared MIA/POW. Covers one degree from a community college and one bachelor's degree.
Who it is for
The spouse, surviving spouse, biological child, adopted child, or stepchild of a Nebraska veteran the VA rated 100% permanently and totally disabled (or who died from a service-connected cause, or was MIA/POW). The student must be a Nebraska resident enrolled in a participating school; children are covered up to age 26, with a possible extension to age 31 for those who served on active duty themselves.

How to apply
- Download NDVA Form 3 (Waiver of Tuition application) from veterans.nebraska.gov.
- Have the school's authorized representative fill out their section, and gather the veteran's DD-214, plus birth or marriage certificates as needed.
- Submit the full packet to NDVA by mail, fax (402-742-1142), email (ndva@nebraska.gov), or the online portal before the school term starts.
Deadline: No fixed date, but you must submit the complete application before the school term begins. First-time applications take about 4 to 6 weeks to process, so apply early. (Rolling, apply any time)
