North Carolina Disabled Veteran Property Tax Relief (NC Veterans Property Tax Relief)

Focus: Veterans with disabilities, Surviving spouses and families

Before you start

How you apply: Apply directly to the program.

How to apply

  1. Complete sections 1 and 2 of Form NCDVA-9 and take it to your local veterans service office for certification.
  2. Submit the certified NCDVA-9 along with Form AV-9 to the tax office in the county where your home is located.
  3. File by June 1 of the tax year you want the exclusion to start, and submit early because certification takes time.

Deadline: Your county tax office must receive the forms by June 1 of the tax year you want the exclusion to apply. (Annual cycle)
