Missouri State Veterans Cemeteries

Burial at a Missouri state veterans cemetery at no charge to the veteran or family. The state provides opening and closing of the grave, a concrete grave liner if a vault is not purchased, an upright granite headstone or columbarium niche cover, military honors, and perpetual care. Cremated remains can be buried in the ground or placed in a columbarium.

Who it is for

Veterans discharged under conditions other than dishonorable who meet the same service requirements as a national cemetery, generally 24 consecutive months of active duty for service after September 1980, or 20 years of creditable service for National Guard and Reserve members. Eligible spouses and dependent children can also be buried. There is no Missouri residency requirement. Cemeteries operate in Springfield, Higginsville, Bloomfield, Ft. Leonard Wood, and Jacksonville.
