Missouri Returning Heroes Act

Caps tuition for combat veterans at Missouri public colleges and universities at $50 per credit hour for undergraduate programs, and at no more than 30 percent of tuition and fees for graduate programs.

Who it is for

Honorably discharged veterans who served in armed combat (shown on a DD214 by combat theater service, combat medals, or imminent danger or hostile fire pay) and who live in Missouri or are registered or eligible to vote in Missouri. You must keep at least a 2.5 GPA to stay eligible. Undergraduate eligibility lasts 10 years from your last discharge; graduate eligibility lasts 20 years.

How you apply: Apply directly to the program.

There is no separate state application. Your school verifies your eligibility and applies the reduced tuition rate.

How to apply

  1. Enroll at a Missouri public college or university.
  2. Give the school's veterans services or financial aid office your DD214 or other proof of combat service and honorable discharge.
  3. The school applies the reduced rate. Keep at least a 2.5 GPA to stay eligible.

Deadline: No application deadline. Undergraduate eligibility ends 10 years after your last discharge; graduate eligibility ends 20 years after. (Rolling, apply any time)
