Michigan Veterans Trust Fund Emergency Grant Program (MVTF Emergency Grant)
Emergency grants that help Michigan veterans get through an unexpected, short-term financial crisis, such as utility bills, home repairs, or mortgage help. Grants are meant for problems a single payment can solve, and you must show you can keep up with the expense afterward.
Who it is for
Michigan veterans with an honorable discharge (or general under honorable conditions) who served 180 days of active duty during a wartime period, or served 180 days of active duty and earned an Armed Forces or Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, or who were separated for a service-caused disability after at least one day of wartime service. Peacetime veterans age 65 and older with 180 days of service can apply under the 65+ Peacetime Program, starting any time in the year they turn 65. Dependents of an eligible veteran can apply in certain circumstances.
