Veterans' Emergency Financial Assistance Program (VEFAP)
Gives eligible Maine veterans facing a financial emergency a one-time grant of up to $2,000 to cover things like rent or mortgage, utilities, vehicle repairs needed for work, home damage from fire or flood not covered by insurance, or a dental emergency (up to $500 of that).
Who it is for
Maine resident veterans with an Honorable or General Under Honorable Conditions discharge who are facing a hardship that puts them at risk of losing food, shelter, or safety.
