Kentucky Homestead Exemption for Disabled Veterans (Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption)
Lowers the property tax on a disabled veteran's home by removing a set amount from the home's assessed value. For the 2025-2026 assessment years the exemption is $49,100. Unlike other disabled applicants, a veteran with a service-connected total disability does not have to reapply every year.
Who it is for
Veterans who own and live in their Kentucky home and are classified as totally and permanently disabled from a service-connected condition by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The exemption also covers homeowners age 65 and older and others determined totally disabled.
