Property Tax Relief Claim for Disabled Veterans (K-40SVR) (K-40SVR Property Tax Refund)
Gives eligible disabled veterans (and some surviving spouses) a yearly refund equal to the increase in their home's property tax since they first became eligible, so their property tax bill effectively stays close to its starting-year level.
Who it is for
Kansas veterans who were honorably discharged, have a service-connected disability rating of 50% or more, own and live in their Kansas home, meet the household income limit (household income of $58,041 or less for the 2025 tax year), and whose home was worth $350,000 or less in the year they first qualified. Surviving spouses of a qualifying disabled veteran can keep receiving it until they remarry.
Focus: Veterans with disabilities, Surviving spouses and families
