Illinois Veterans' Homes (IL Veterans' Homes)

Five state-run homes in Anna, Chicago, LaSalle, Manteno, and Quincy that provide skilled nursing care, and domiciliary (independent living) care at some locations, for aged and disabled veterans and their eligible spouses. The maximum monthly maintenance charge is $1,659, based on income; veterans with a 70 to 100 percent service-connected disability rating pay no monthly maintenance charge.

Who it is for

Honorably discharged veterans who served at least one day of active duty and either have service credited to Illinois or lived in Illinois for at least one year before applying, plus their eligible spouses. Priority for admission goes to veterans who served during a time of conflict.
