Injured Veterans Grant
A grant of up to $10,000, paid in $2,500 increments, to help a seriously injured veteran's family be with them during recovery.
Who it is for
Service members or veterans seriously injured in a combat or hazardous-duty area after September 11, 2001, who are still receiving medical treatment or rehab for that injury.
Focus: Post-9/11 veterans, Veterans with disabilities

How to apply
- Download the Injured Veterans Grant application from the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs website.
- Gather supporting records, such as your DD-214 or medical evacuation records.
- Submit the application to the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs; a County Veterans Service Officer can help.
Deadline: No fixed deadline. You stay eligible as long as you are still getting medical treatment or rehab for the qualifying injury. (Rolling, apply any time)
