How to apply
- Bring your Hawaii driver's license, current car registration, and a current VA decision letter showing your 100% disability rating to any OVS office.
- OVS staff writes you an exemption letter on the spot.
- Take that letter to the DMV when you pay your registration fee to get the $45 taken off.
Deadline: No fixed deadline, but you need a new exemption letter from OVS each year before you renew your registration. (Rolling, apply any time)
