Georgia Disabled Veteran Homestead Tax Exemption
Exempts up to $121,812 of a disabled veteran's home value from property taxes. That is the 2025 amount, set by an index rate from the U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The exemption continues for an un-remarried surviving spouse or minor children who keep living in the home.
Who it is for
Honorably discharged Georgia veterans who own and live in their home as a primary residence and are VA-rated 100 percent totally disabled, rated less than 100 percent but paid at the 100 percent rate due to unemployability, or receiving a statutory VA award for loss of feet, hands, or sight. Un-remarried surviving spouses and minor children can keep the exemption if they stay in the home.
