Resource State Florida State Courts System (individual judicial circuits), authorized by the T. Patt Maney Veterans' Treatment Intervention Act

Florida Veterans Treatment Courts (FL Veterans Treatment Courts)

Special court programs for veterans and service members whose criminal charges stem from a service-related substance use disorder or mental health condition. Instead of standard prosecution, eligible veterans get treatment, supervision, and a veteran mentor, and completing the program can lead to reduced charges or dismissal.

Who it is for

Veterans and service members charged with a qualifying offense that is connected to a service-related substance use or mental health condition, such as post-traumatic stress or traumatic brain injury. Eligibility is decided by the court in the circuit where the case is filed.

Focus: Justice-involved veterans
