Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery (Veterans Memorial Cemetery)
The state veterans cemetery. Eligible veterans and service members can be buried there, and eligible spouses and dependent children can also be buried there. Contact the Office of Veterans Services for details on eligibility and any costs.
Who it is for
Delaware veterans who were honorably discharged (not counting active duty for training), or reservists with more than 180 days of active federal service. The veteran must have been a Delaware resident at the time of death, or have three years of Delaware residency, or have been a Delaware resident when entering service. An eligible veteran's spouse and unmarried dependent children under 21 (or with a lifelong dependency) also qualify.

How to apply
- Contact the Office of Veterans Services to pre-qualify the veteran ahead of time if you can, which also confirms the spouse's eligibility.
- At the time of need, have the funeral home or family gather the veteran's DD-214 and provide it to the cemetery office.
- Call the Office of Veterans Services at 302-739-2792 or email DOS_OVS@delaware.gov to arrange the burial.
Deadline: There is no application deadline. Pre-qualification can be done ahead of time, and burial is arranged at the time of need. (Rolling, apply any time)
