Connecticut Veteran Tuition Waiver Program
Waives tuition for eligible veterans at Connecticut's public colleges and universities: full tuition at the state universities and community colleges, and a 50% course fee waiver at Charter Oak State College. It does not cover books, fees, parking, or room and board.
Who it is for
Veterans honorably discharged (or released under honorable conditions) with at least 90 cumulative days of active wartime duty, who are domiciled in Connecticut and formally admitted to a Connecticut public college or university. Active Connecticut National Guard members activated under Title 10, and dependent children or surviving spouses of service members killed in action after September 11, 2001, or declared missing in action or prisoner of war since January 1, 1960, also qualify.

- Apply for admission to a Connecticut public college, community college, or university.
- Bring a copy of your DD-214 (separation paper) when you apply for admission or register for courses.
- Confirm your eligibility with the school's veterans affairs office or registrar so the waiver is applied to your tuition.
