California State Veterans Cemeteries (State Veterans Cemeteries)

California runs its own veterans cemeteries where eligible veterans and their families can be buried. The state currently operates three: the Northern California Veterans Cemetery, the Yountville Veterans Home Cemetery, and the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery, with a Southern California cemetery in development.

Who it is for

Veterans discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, service members who die on active duty, and in many cases their spouses and dependent children. CalVet determines eligibility using the same standards as the national veterans cemeteries. Details on eligibility and any interment fees for spouses and dependents are in the burial benefits materials linked from the page.

Focus: Surviving spouses and families
