Arizona Tuition Waiver Scholarship

Waives undergraduate tuition at Arizona's public universities and community colleges for qualifying wounded veterans, certain Arizona National Guard members, and surviving dependents of service members killed in the line of duty. Books, course fees, parking, and room and board are not covered.

Who it is for

Purple Heart recipients with a VA disability rating of 50 percent or more who were Arizona residents or stationed in Arizona when injured; unremarried surviving spouses and children up to age 30 of service members killed in the line of duty with an Arizona connection; current Arizona National Guard members who received a Purple Heart on or after September 11, 2001; and former Arizona National Guard members medically discharged for an injury or disability suffered on duty.

How to apply

  1. Download the Tuition Waiver Verification Form from the ADVS website.
  2. Email the completed form and copies of your supporting documents to ADVS, or mail them to 1688 W. Adams Street, Phoenix, AZ 85007.
  3. Once ADVS verifies your eligibility, use the waiver for undergraduate credits at any Arizona public university or community college where you are admitted.
